This week’s big write

This week we were trying to write a longer version of the ending to Sleeping Beauty. Mrs Wheelhouse and Mrs Charlesworth were really impressed with how focused and quiet Meerkats were for the whole 45 minutes so well done everybody! Lewis’ and Scarlet’s writing really stood out because they both had clearly thought carefully about their sentences and used full stops correctly. Let us know what you think!

Lewis –

The prince kissed the princess. Then the princess woke up. Then the prince said please will you marry me. The princess said yes. They got married. They lived happily ever after.

Scarlet –

One sunny day the handsome, brave strong prince slowly kissed the beautiful sleeping princess. Then she woke up with her big, beautiful gleaming eyes. Next the prince whispered “Do you want to marry me?” and the princess shouted “yes!” Later on that day they had a wonderful party with dancing, music and yummy cake. And they all lived happily ever after.

Big Write

On Friday the Meerkats wrote the ‘Oh no, there’s a problem’ section of Sleeping Beauty. I have been so impressed with everyone’s fantastic writing so the children should all feel really proud of themselves. Two children that really impressed me were Leon and Grace because they both wrote in full sentences and used some super time sign posts. Let us know what you think…

Grace:

The king and queen forgot to invite the mean fairy and she will prick her finger on a spindle and die. The good fairy changed the wicked spell. After that the Princess heard a noise at the top of the tower. She crept up and saw an old woman and said Would you like a go my dear. Then Sleeping Beauty touched the sharp spinning wheel and without warning she fell to the ground.

Leon:

One day Sleeping Beauty heard a sound. Sleeping beauty crept up the tower. Suddenly the princess saw wicked woman. After that she pricked finger on the spinning wheel.

Well done Meerkats! Have a lovely weekend.

This week in maths…

we have been focusing on adding two numbers together. On Tuesday we used an empty number line to help us. Circles group really liked this method and did some fantastic work on their whiteboards (take a look for yourself!) Meerkats class know which children they can go to for help with their adding now 🙂 Well done Summer, Lauren, Calum and Keeley!
